When your husband gets promoted to a shift you work and you really, REALLY don’t want to pay for daycare you’re kind of forced to look for a different job.
Last week, I dusted off my extremely old and out of date resume. Before I sent it out I added the last eight years of skills learned and employment history that had been missing. Now I feel like I’m holding a fishing rod using my resume as bait. Often times when fishing the bait is the most important thing and if you don’t have the right lure you don’t get any nibbles. Fortunately for me it would appear my bait is appealing to some.
I was informed this week that I made it to the second round of the interview process, the background check…
It might not surprise anyone that knows me that I’m not concerned about passing this test, it might, however, surprise you that there is another Jessica Senn that lives in St. Cloud, MN and she doesn’t have such a good record.
Big deal, right? So, there’s another Jessica Senn who cares.
Well, I care.
As it would turn out, the last time I was in corporate America, my wages were garnished because of HER!
You might ask yourself how that happens, I’m not exactly sure. I do know that after I got paid I looked at my paystub and almost half of my check was gone.
GONE!
Our local HR lady was out on vacation and it took our corporate headquarters a few days to get back to me. They told me that it was because of some unpaid lawyer fees I had. It took me a week to convince them they had the WRONG Jessica Senn. It took even longer to get my money back.
One can only hope that, in the past decade, Jessica Senn in Stearns County has been making good choices. Especially since the majority of employment opportunities are decided with online data BEFORE they even meet you.
So here I sit with my fishing pole, awaiting an email, putting my full trust in the Universe. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. If not, I will hopefully be able to move to the day shift and stay where I’m at! Either way, it’s a win.
Wish me luck! Namaste,
Jes
