The silence of the mornings are more captivating than anything I have read recently. I’ve been reading a couple good memoirs. But maybe I’m drawn to the silence because the summer was so loud or perhaps this season of my life needs some reflecting; regardless this silence is so filling.
Today, after dropping my men off at school, I came home to some much needed silence. Barks Even More was up ALL night and I forgot to put my phone on airplane mode the notification alerts were relentless. I grabbed my meditation cushion and gathered my thoughts and breath.
Since it was the first of the month today, I opened up the ritual book and practiced the blessings and prayers for this month.
According to my blessing and ritual book, October is all about the dead. It’s about asking energy that isn’t serving you to leave and calling on the wisdom of the elders that have passed. One of the main parts of Anna Forrests yoga class take-a-ways was when Jose (her partner in crime) read this poem about the honoring the spirits of the soil. It really resonated with me. This ritual blessing is exactly what I needed.
If you do too, I would suggest this book!
Namaste,
Jes xoxo
