I LOVE everything Hawaiian, maybe it’s because I was born there and raised a surfer girl, but everything Hawaiian just seems better. The coffee tastes better, the flowery coconut scents smell better, the Ukulele music sounds happier and the beaches are so beautiful! I have hula girls on the dashes of my cars, lei’s decorating my mirrors, palm tree and hibiscus tattoos. It doesn’t get much better than Hawaii.
To say I am a sucker is beyond appropriate. Slap a beach scene picture or a hibiscus flower on anything, say it’s from Hawaii and I will buy it every. single. time. Take for example Kona Brewing Company in particular their Big Wave beer, I saw it in the liquor store and just had to have it. Of course it’s delicious! It is now my beer of choice and about 85 calories per beer more than I like to consume but it’s Hawaiian so I let that little fact slide. Turns out, just because the six pack says it’s made in Oahu doesn’t mean that it’s the truth. They make it here on the “mainland” (insert disappointment). Does this mean I don’t drink it any longer? No. If I’m drinking beer this is still my beer of choice.
A few weeks ago I scheduled an appointment for a facial. I was a virgin to the facial prior to this appointment. I was approached with this opportunity (more to come) that I couldn’t pass up and needed to look my best on. What looks better than perfect looking skin! Facial scheduled. It was amazing. I will definitely be going back for more of those! Before I settled the bill I took a look around the little shop they have in the front of the spa. They had some interesting trinkets and gifts that caught my attention. I picked up a couple tins of “lip shit” when I saw it. OPI created a nail polish line just for me. The spring line of OPI for 2015 is called Hawaii. It was staring me right in the face. The colors weren’t the only thing that were amazing but the names too!
That’s Hula-rious, Go with the Lava Flow, Aloha from OPI, Suzi Shops & Island Hops, Hello Hawaii Ya?, Pineapples have Peelings too and more.
With some restraint I narrowed it down to one. Since my theme for this year is Let it Go (not in the Frozen sense, PLEASE!) I choose Go with the Lava Flow. The color is incredible and well the name just takes the cake.
My restraint didn’t last that long. I’ve been thinking about this line since I saw it. Now I’ve added 4 more to my collection. Suzi Shops & Island Hops, That’s Hula-rious, Aloha from OPI and Lost My Bikini In Molokini. They are mini bottles sort of a sampler selection that I am SO excited to get! Knowing me, it won’t be long before the rest of the collection becomes mine. I could have worse addictions, right?!
I can see Pineapples have Peelings Too coming to join my collection soon. I mean with a name like that how can I not?
Confession time….I was born in Colorado. A mountain girl. But my heart is Hawaiian. Really, it’s where your heart is that matters.
Much love,
Jes xoxo
