I can not believe it is already March. Tax season is in full swing and working in the industry means its busy time. Last year at this time I was EXHAUSTED by now. I was eating terribly and not working out, this year I made a promise to myself to not go down that path and I’ve been pretty successful so far!
Because it’s so busy I wanted to keep the Meditation fairly easy.
Spring season is upon us and with it comes growth. A time where everything is changing and new beginnings are starting. If you’re waiting for a sign to start a goal, this is it. If you need a season to make some positive changes, this is it; now is the best time.
This Meditation and hand pose may help you cultivate commitment and put some discipline in your life.
If you’ve ever played with shadow puppets, this one is for you. We’re making a bird. Turn your hands so your palms face up and cross your right hand over your left, clasping your thumbs together. This is known as Garuda Mudra, named after the eagle that Vishnu (the lord of preservation) rides. The Garuda Mudra can fly into the sun and allows us to broaden our wing span and pursue our passions fearlessly.
With your hands in this position, start thinking about the things you want to change or the things you’d like to begin. For added difficulty try this hand posture while being in plank pose on your forearms.
As you become still with your thoughts allow the ability to transform wash over you. This is your season, your year; make the most of it.
Much love,
Jes xoxo
