Do you remember Mario & Luigi? It’s so weird that you would have to find secret hidden mushrooms for them to grow, big & strong and jump higher. If that’s Nintendo’s way of telling kids to eat their vegetables, maybe they should have picked broccoli.

First of all, I like my coffee as Bert Kreischer puts it, “to not know its father”.
Black. 🤣
I love black coffee, it doesn’t matter to me if it’s brewed by the pot or served in a French Press, black coffee is the best coffee.
I was a tea drinker, many, MANY moons ago.
I’ve always loved the smell of coffee but couldn’t ever brew the perfect cup myself. When you add nursing infants and an hour commute to work the coffee your coworker made is WAY better at keeping you up than drinking tea. ESPECIALLY if you add a little sugar and creamer. The longer I drank coffee the less sugar and creamer I added until it became its original perfect self.
Black.
When you drink caffeine you don’t really notice that there is a “crash/afternoon slump” at the end of the day until someone tells you. When I say someone, I mean someone like mushroom coffee inventor’s! All last year I would see adds about the caffeine crash and how it’s preventable with Ryze mushroom coffee.
I’ve always been late to the trends.
Last July, in Michigan, my Aunt told me I HAD to try something. The catch was she didn’t want to tell me what it was. I asked her if it was mushroom coffee and she said, YES! While she was prepping it she told me that you have to have some creamer in it or it just isn’t that good. The cup she made was surprisingly good. When we got home I ordered my own kit.
Ryze mushroom coffee is good but it just seemed like they were ALWAYS contacting me. They didn’t call but they sent a TON of emails regarding next shipments and what-have-yous. The first couple times were nice. I was able to skip some shipments and get on a rotation that actually worked for me.
BUT, you always had to have creamer in it.
I finally got annoyed enough with the constant emails that I cancelled my subscription to Ryze OR it could have been the podcast I listen to talked me into trying another brand. 🤷♀️
Space Goods.
The podcaster said, “it changed my God damned life”. To be fair, she says this about a LOT of things BUT I didn’t feel like Ryze changed anything other than getting me aggravated with the flood of emails and putting dreadful creamer back in my coffee.
Space Good’s has a starter kit called Rainbow Dust, it even SOUNDS magical. PLUS their starter kit came with a bunch of free stuff: cup, tin, scooper etc.
Ryze came with a magnet…
I ordered a Space Dust starter kit and couldn’t wait for it!
It didn’t arrive.
I waited and waited… no Rainbow Dust showed up at my door. I contacted their customer service department, because they are in Europe they asked me to wait. “It’s probably stuck in customs,” they told me.
I waited and waited…nothing. I contacted them again, now it’s been 6 weeks since my order was placed and it still hadn’t arrived. I asked for a refund. Even if it IS good, I don’t want to have to wait 2 months for an order.
Their team of customer service members were nice, but didn’t listen. They just kept telling me to wait. Eventually they refunded me and that Rainbow Dust NEVER showed up.
I went back to coffee until my little coffee pot had just had enough and it died on me. Then I went to the French Press and while that works I can NEVER get the coffee ground amount right! Plus, I was feeling that famous afternoon crash with caffeine – one I hadn’t noticed until I switched to mushroom coffee.
I started searching for another mushroom coffee and came across Everyday Dose. Their starter kit showed up at my door days after I ordered it. The kit came with a sticker, free samples(!), a scooper (!), and a frother (!). The frother is rechargeable – a win in my book and they said it’s the Rolls-Royce of frothers. They were NOT kidding!
Because Ryze needed creamer I put some of my protein shake in Everyday Dose, I’m not sure if it’s the frother that makes the difference or what but the Everyday Dose doesn’t need anything in it! It’s good exactly how I like coffee, black. (Well… this stuff is a little more brown than black.)

I did have to reach out to Everyday Dose’s Customer Service team to update my email address. The team is VERY responsive and VERY friendly. Within an hour I had the issue fixed.
While I’m not officially ready to say, “it changed my god-damned life”, I do look forward to mornings. The ritual of the perfect cup of mushroom coffee is something I love. I’m starting to think Nintendo had it right this whole time. Hiding mushrooms for an extra boost of creativity without the brain fog. Bowser didn’t stand a chance against mushrooms but carrots? Mario & Luigi would have been screwed.
Have you tried mushroom coffee? What’s your favorite brand?
Namaste, Jes xoxo
PS… Maybe they should make a Mario Dust….with an old school Nintendo label.
